The course: challenging but still accessible
Squamish Valley Golf Club is a popular semiprivate course open to members and guests. Known to be busy, it can get crowded, especially during peak hours, but that vibrant community atmosphere is part and parcel of the course’s charm. It’s a place where you’ll often find yourself making fast friends with locals who are eager to share tips about the game and the area, and that was exactly our experience when we were paired with two seasoned members for our round.

The club fosters a friendly environment where members and guests easily mingle, and a shared love of the game and the stunning natural surroundings bind everyone together. The club’s focus isn’t just on golf but also on creating lasting connections among people from all walks of life.
While the drive to Squamish Valley is a breeze, getting back to Vancouver can take a bit longer, especially if you’re heading out in the late afternoon or early evening on a weekend or during peak season. Even so, the extra time on the road is a small price to pay for the Squamish Valley Golf Club experience.

On your way back, keep an eye out for Furry Creek. Fans of Happy Gilmore will recognize the scenic views that were the backdrop for several memorable scenes, including the dramatic standoff between Happy and Bob Barker. A stopover in Furry Creek is a fun and nostalgic treat and adds a little extra excitement to the ride back.

As you replay the day’s round in your mind, don’t forget to enjoy the mountain and coastal panoramas you’re leaving behind. You’ll have the memories of a great game, a fantastic meal and the warm hospitality of the locals to carry with you.
